Description

This Witch Dishcloth is a fun Halloween crochet project featuring a bright green base, a black hat shape, and embroidered facial details. It’s a great beginner-friendly project that combines crafting with seasonal decoration or gifting.

Ingredients

  • Lily® Sugar’n Cream yarn in Hot Green
  • Lily® Sugar’n Cream yarn in Black
  • Crochet hook, 5 mm
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends and sewing on the nose
  • Scissors
  • Black and contrasting embroidery thread, if needed for the facial details
  • Stitch marker, optional

Instructions

  1. With Hot Green, chain 36.
  2. For the first row, work 1 single crochet in the second chain from the hook. Work 1 single crochet in each remaining chain to the end. Turn.
  3. For the second row, chain 1. Work 1 single crochet in each single crochet across. Turn.
  4. Repeat the second row 10 more times.
  5. Join Black at the end of the last green row. Secure the color change neatly so the edge remains tidy.
  6. Begin the hat shaping with Black. Chain 1.
  7. Draw up a loop in each of the next 2 stitches, then complete a single crochet two together.
  8. Continue working 1 single crochet in each stitch across until the last 2 single crochets.
  9. Work a single crochet two together over the final 2 stitches. Turn.
  10. Repeat the shaping row until 25 stitches remain.
  11. Continue shaping and finish the remaining upper section according to the original pattern layout.
  12. Embroider the mouth and eyes.
  13. Sew on the nose as shown in the pattern design.
  14. Weave in all loose ends securely on the wrong side of the dishcloth.

Notes

The supplied instructions do not include the remaining stitch-by-stitch shaping details or a separate nose pattern, so use the original pattern image or layout for those final shaping and assembly steps.
