A fun and engaging project for all ages that transforms wax paper into colorful flower suncatchers, perfect for brightening up your living spaces.
Ingredients
- Wax paper (various colors)
- Colored tissue paper
- Scissors
- Iron
- Ironing board
- Parchment paper
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- Glue (optional for added designs)
Instructions
- Prepare your work area with an ironing board and gather all materials.
- Cut two pieces of wax paper to your desired size, usually around 10 inches by 10 inches.
- Tear or cut colored tissue paper into shapes (petals, leaves, etc.) and arrange them between the two pieces of wax paper.
- Place a piece of parchment paper over the wax paper design and heat the iron to a low setting. Carefully press the iron over the parchment paper for about 10-15 seconds.
- Once cooled, cut the sealed wax paper into a beautiful flower shape.
- Use a hole punch to create a small hole at the top of the flower and thread a piece of string or ribbon through the hole for hanging. Hang it in a sunny window and enjoy the light filtering through!
Notes
For extra sparkle, consider adding glitter to your tissue paper designs. Experiment with different materials and layering techniques to create unique textures.
