Description

Create vibrant wax paper sun catchers with your kids, a fun and educational craft that brightens up any room.

Ingredients

  • Wax paper sheets
  • Colorful tissue paper or crepe paper
  • Scissors
  • White craft glue or a glue stick
  • Iron (with adult supervision)
  • Parchment paper or an old towel
  • String or ribbon (optional for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Start by gathering all your materials on a clean, flat surface.
  2. Cut the tissue paper or crepe paper into fun shapes—squares, circles, or abstract designs.
  3. Lay the tissue paper shapes in a creative pattern on one half of the wax paper.
  4. Fold the other half of the wax paper over the colorful arrangement.
  5. Place the wax paper sandwich between sheets of parchment paper.
  6. Press the hot iron over it for a few seconds to fuse the layers together.
  7. Trim any excess wax paper and punch a hole for hanging if desired.
  8. Use string or ribbon to hang your sun catcher in a window.

Notes

For safe crafting, always supervise children with scissors and the iron. Use clear packing tape as an alternative if you don’t have an iron.
