Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of glue (white school glue or clear craft glue)
- Food coloring (optional)
- A heatproof container (like a glass jar)
- A stirring stick
- Wax paper or a plate
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Stir gently until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Heat mixture on medium heat and bring to a gentle boil.
- Remove from heat and add 1 tablespoon of glue. Mix well.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring and mix to distribute color.
- Pour the mixture into the heatproof container.
- Place in a cool, undisturbed area for several days, allowing crystals to form.
- Periodically check and observe crystal growth.
- Once crystals have reached the desired size, carefully remove them from the solution and let them dry on wax paper or a plate.
Notes
Experiment with different food coloring combinations and container shapes for unique effects. The sugar crystals are not food-safe due to added glue.
