Description

An enchanting craft that combines science and art to create beautiful crystal formations resembling natural geodes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of glue (white school glue or clear craft glue)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • A heatproof container (like a glass jar)
  • A stirring stick
  • Wax paper or a plate

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Stir gently until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Heat mixture on medium heat and bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Remove from heat and add 1 tablespoon of glue. Mix well.
  4. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring and mix to distribute color.
  5. Pour the mixture into the heatproof container.
  6. Place in a cool, undisturbed area for several days, allowing crystals to form.
  7. Periodically check and observe crystal growth.
  8. Once crystals have reached the desired size, carefully remove them from the solution and let them dry on wax paper or a plate.

Notes

Experiment with different food coloring combinations and container shapes for unique effects. The sugar crystals are not food-safe due to added glue.
