A fun and educational craft that creates a colorful volcanic eruption using common household ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of salt
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 1 cup of vinegar
- Food coloring (various colors)
- A small container or cup (for the ‘volcano’)
- A tray or shallow dish (to catch spills)
- Spoon or stir stick
- Small measuring cups
Instructions
- Prepare your volcano by placing the small container upside down on the tray and surrounding it with salt.
- Pour baking soda into the top of the container and create a small well.
- Mix vinegar with food coloring in a separate cup.
- Slowly pour the colored vinegar into the well of baking soda and watch the eruption.
- Experiment with different colors and quantities for varying effects.
