Description

An engaging DIY project that combines salt and watercolors to create stunning, textured artwork resembling fireworks.

Ingredients

  • Thick watercolor paper or cardstock
  • Watercolor paints (a selection of colors)
  • Table salt
  • Paintbrushes (various sizes)
  • Small containers or palettes for mixing
  • Water (for cleaning brushes and watering down paints)
  • Paper towels (for spills)
  • Optional: a tray or surface protector

Instructions

  1. Select your watercolor paper and place it on a flat surface.
  2. Prepare your watercolors by adding a little water to your palette and mixing the pigments.
  3. Use your brush to apply water to the areas of the paper where you want your fireworks.
  4. Dip your brush into the watercolor and begin adding color onto the wet paper.
  5. While the colors are still wet, sprinkle salt gently over the painted areas.
  6. Allow your artwork to dry fully.
  7. Once dry, gently brush off the excess salt.
  8. Take a step back and admire your artwork.
