Description

A delightful DIY project for creating beautiful salt dough flower magnets that bring joy and creativity into your space.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup table salt
  • 1 cup water (filtered)
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie cutters (flower shapes)
  • Baking sheet
  • Non-toxic paint
  • Paintbrushes (soft bristles)
  • Clear sealant (optional)
  • Magnets

Instructions

  1. Mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour with 1 cup of salt in a large bowl.
  2. Add 1 cup of water slowly, mixing until the dough holds together.
  3. Knead the dough on a clean surface for 5 to 10 minutes until smooth and warm.
  4. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Use cookie cutters to press out flower shapes.
  6. Impress designs into the petals using tools or fingers.
  7. Place the formed flowers on a baking sheet and dry them in a preheated oven at 200°F for 120 minutes.
  8. Paint the cooled flowers with soft brushes.
  9. Apply a clear sealant if desired.
  10. Attach magnets to the back of each flower with strong adhesive.

Notes

Store your salt dough magnets in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Refresh them with paint or reshape if needed.
