Description

This little pup hat has an easy, rounded shape and a fabric with enough body to hold its form without feeling stiff, suitable for a cozy crochet session.

H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook

Instructions

Form a slip knot, place it on the hook, and make 63 chains.
Skip the first chain, yarn over, insert the hook into the next chain, pull up a loop, yarn over again, and pull through all three loops on the hook.
Work 1 half double crochet in each chain across, then chain 1 and turn.
For Rows 2 through 15, work 1 half double crochet in each stitch across. The turning chain does not count as a stitch.
At the end of every row, chain 1 and turn.
Shape Row 16: Chain 1 and turn. Work 1 half double crochet in the first stitch, then work 1 decrease over the next 2 stitches. Repeat across the row, ending with 1 half double crochet in the last stitch.
Shape Row 17: Chain 1 and turn. Work 1 half double crochet in the first stitch, then work 1 decrease over the next 2 stitches. Repeat across the row and finish with 1 half double crochet in the last stitch.
Shape Row 18: Chain 1 and turn. Work 1 half double crochet in the first stitch, then work 1 decrease over the next 2 stitches across the row. Finish with 1 half double crochet in the last stitch.
