Ingredients
- 1 large pool noodle
- Black acrylic paint (or outdoor-safe paint)
- Red acrylic paint (or outdoor-safe paint)
- Medium-size paintbrush
- Scissors
- Waterproof adhesive
- 1 small bowl or container (to hold birdseed)
- Optional: Googly eyes
- Optional: Outdoor sealant spray
Instructions
- Start by cutting the pool noodle into two equal pieces.
- Select one piece to be the body of the ladybug and paint it red.
- While the red paint dries, cut a smaller section from the other piece for the ladybug’s head and paint it black.
- Once the paint is dry, attach the black head to the red body using waterproof adhesive.
- For eyes, glue googly eyes onto the head for added charm.
- Mix black paint with a brush or sponge to create spots on the red body.
- Finally, secure the small bowl or container on top of the ladybug’s body.
- Consider applying an outdoor sealant once everything is dry.
Notes
To extend the life of your bird feeder, place it in a sheltered area and check periodically for birdseed availability. Touch up paint as needed.
