Description

A fun and eco-friendly craft project that repurposes plastic lids into beautiful sun catchers.

Ingredients

  • Plastic lids (e.g., from jars or containers)
  • Clear glue (preferably a craft glue or Mod Podge)
  • Non-toxic acrylic paints or food coloring
  • Paintbrushes
  • Scissors
  • String or fishing line (for hanging)
  • Optional embellishments (e.g., sequins, beads, or glitter)

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Workspace: Gather materials on a flat surface and protect the area with newspaper or a craft mat.
  2. Paint the Lids: Select colors, squeeze paint into a palette, and use a paintbrush to apply paint to the inside of each lid.
  3. Glue & Layer: Once the paint dries, apply a layer of clear glue and add embellishments into the wet glue.
  4. Create a Hanging Mechanism: Cut a length of string and punch a small hole in the lid for hanging.
  5. Hang and Enjoy: Hang your suncatcher by a window and enjoy the colorful reflections!

Notes

Mix materials for different effects and consider seasonal themes for your suncatchers.
