Description

Create vibrant pink seashell crystals using simple materials and an engaging process that blends creativity with science.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Epsom salt
  • 1 cup of water
  • Pink food coloring
  • Small pan
  • Heat source
  • Spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Shell molds (silicone molds recommended)
  • Optional: Glitter for added sparkle

Instructions

  1. In a small pan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of Epsom salt. Heat over medium, stirring until dissolved; then remove from heat.
  2. Add a few drops of pink food coloring and optional glitter to the solution, stirring gently.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the solution into shell molds, filling them halfway.
  4. Set aside in a cool area and let the crystals form for 24 hours.
  5. After 24 hours, carefully remove the crystals from the molds and place them on parchment paper to dry for a few more hours.
  6. Once fully dried, display your Pink Seashell Crystals or gift them!

Notes

Experiment with different colors and shapes. For texture, you can add small seashells or sand before pouring the solution.
