Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Borax
- 2 cups Water
- Pink food coloring
- String or yarn
- Pencil or stick for hanging
- Glass jar or container
- Measuring cup
- Heat-safe bowl
Instructions
- In a heat-safe bowl, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Slowly add 1/2 cup of Borax, stirring continuously until fully dissolved.
- Add a few drops of pink food coloring and mix.
- Cut the string to about 12 inches and tie it into a heart shape.
- Use a pencil to suspend the heart shape in the jar, ensuring it doesn’t touch the bottom.
- Pour the Borax solution into the jar until the heart shape is submerged.
- Place the jar in a quiet area and allow crystals to form for 6-12 hours.
- After the waiting period, gently remove the heart from the jar and rinse briefly in cool water.
- Dry on a paper towel and display your pink crystal heart!
Notes
Experiment with different food coloring to create unique shades. Use fine glitter for added sparkle.
