Description

Craft soothing pastel jellyfish lanterns from recycled bottles to illuminate your space with a gentle glow and a touch of oceanic magic.

Ingredients

  • Clear glass or plastic bottles
  • Sheer chiffon or cotton fabric in pastel colors
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • LED tealight candles
  • Thin wire or twine
  • Optional: glitter, beads, or sequins

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Find a comfortable spot to work, laying down a soft cloth or newspaper to protect the surface.
  2. Cut Fabric for Jellyfish: Take a piece of chiffon or cotton and cut it into circles or oval shapes. Aim for gentle curves; the shapes can be different for a whimsical look.
  3. Attach the Fabric to the Bottle: Use craft glue to attach the fabric onto the bottle’s opening. Create a layered look by slightly overlapping the pieces.
  4. Create the Jellyfish Tentacles: Cut long strips of fabric to serve as tentacles. These can hang down from the bottle, swaying gently in the air.
  5. Enhance with Glitter or Decor: If you wish, add a bit of sparkle with glitter or beads. Dab a bit of glue on the fabric and sprinkle your chosen adornments.
  6. Insert the LED Candle: Place an LED tealight at the bottom of the bottle. Lightly turn it on and watch the glow warm up the colors of your jellyfish.
  7. Add Finishing Touches: Use thin wire or twine to add a decorative bow around the top of the bottle.
  8. Display Your Lantern: Find a cozy spot in your home to showcase your lantern. Position it where light can bounce, spreading calm vibes throughout your space.

Notes

Store lanterns in a cool, dry place to keep them safe from dust or damage. Refresh fabrics to change the look seasonally.
