Description

A fun and engaging craft for kids to create their own paper plate octopus while enhancing creativity and fine motor skills.

Ingredients

  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Colored markers or paints
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Optional: Streamers or colored paper for tentacles

Instructions

  1. Start by taking a paper plate. This will be the body of your octopus.
  2. Use scissors to cut slits along the edge of the plate, making around 8 cuts to represent the octopus’ tentacles.
  3. Let the children color or paint the plate with vibrant colors.
  4. Glue googly eyes onto the top of the plate.
  5. Optionally, glue streamers or colored paper strips to the tentacles for added flair.

Notes

Encourage kids to feel the texture of the paper and explore different lengths and designs for their octopus.
