Transform simple glass bottles into colorful Neon Swirling Bottle Lanterns that light up your space with a soft glow.
Ingredients
- Empty glass bottles (soda or wine bottles work beautifully)
- Neon acrylic paints (choose your favorite colors)
- Small paintbrush (to help with swirling)
- Soft cloth or paper towels (for cleaning)
- Water (to dilute paint if needed)
- Twine or string (for hanging the lanterns)
- Battery-operated tea lights (for a safe glow)
Instructions
- Prep your workspace: Clear a gentle space where you can spread out your bottles and materials.
- Clean the bottles: Rinse them with warm water to remove any labels and residue.
- Plan your design: Visualize how you want your lanterns to look.
- Pour the paint: Pour a small amount of neon acrylic paint into the bottom of a bottle.
- Swirl and mix: Use your paintbrush to swirl the paint inside the bottle.
- Layer colors: Add more colors sequentially and swirl each new layer before it dries.
- Drying time: Place the bottles upside down to let excess paint drip out and allow them to dry.
- Adding lights: Once dry, place a battery-operated tea light inside each bottle.
- Finish with twine: Wrap twine around the neck of the bottle.
- Light up your space: Place your lanterns in a cozy corner and turn on the tea lights.
