Description

Learn how to create beautiful DIY coffee filter flowers, a soothing and enjoyable crafting experience.

Ingredients

  • Coffee filters (standard size)
  • Scissors
  • Floral wire or pipe cleaners
  • Green floral tape
  • Acrylic or watercolor paints
  • A small paintbrush
  • Optional: beads or buttons for embellishments

Instructions

  1. Begin by laying your coffee filters flat on your table.
  2. If you choose to add color, take your paint and brush and lightly dab color onto the filters.
  3. Once dry, take one filter and gently fold it in half, then fold it in half again.
  4. Use your scissors to round off the top edge of the folded filter.
  5. Repeat this step, creating at least five to seven petals for a fuller flower.
  6. Stack the petals on top of one another, slightly offsetting each layer.
  7. If you have beads or buttons, gently attach one to the center using glue.
  8. Wrap the floral wire or pipe cleaner with green floral tape, beginning at the base of the flower.
  9. Step back and admire your creation.

Notes

These flowers last for years if stored properly. They can be reshaped and repainted for renewed decor.
