Description

Create vibrant wax paper sun catchers that brighten your windows and enhance artistic expression.

Ingredients

  • Wax paper
  • Crayons (assorted colors)
  • Pencil sharpener or grater
  • Iron (with supervision if kids are involved)
  • Parchment paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape or string for hanging

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Find a flat, safe surface to work on and cover it with newspaper or an old tablecloth to protect it from crayon shavings.
  2. Grate the Crayons: Using a pencil sharpener or grater, shave the crayons into small pieces.
  3. Assemble the Wax Paper Layers: Cut two pieces of wax paper to your desired size and spread the crayon shavings evenly between the two pieces.
  4. Melt the Crayons: Place parchment paper on top of the wax paper and use the iron on low heat to melt the crayon shavings.
  5. Cool and Cut: Remove the iron and let the wax paper cool, then cut it into fun shapes.
  6. Hang Your Sun Catcher: Use tape or string to hang your sun catcher in a sunny window.

Notes

Always supervise children when using an iron. Experiment with different designs and materials for unique results.
