Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith or red delicious)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup

  2. Insert a lollipop stick into the stem end of each apple.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir to combine.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil without stirring.
  5. Clip a candy thermometer to the side of the pot and continue boiling until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the Kool-Aid powder until fully dissolved.
  7. Quickly dip each apple into the syrup, swirling for an even coat.
  8. Set the coated apples on parchment paper to cool and harden.

Notes

Experiment with different Kool-Aid flavors and add sprinkles or crushed nuts for extra texture.
