Ingredients
- 5 cups fine, clean sand
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup dish soap
- Optional: Food coloring (gel-based) or essential oils for scent
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Choose a flat surface that’s easy to clean and lay down newspaper or a play mat.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine sand and cornstarch, mixing well.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix water and dish soap, adding food coloring if desired.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry sand mixture, stirring continuously.
- Knead the Sand: Use your hands to knead the mixture until it feels moldable.
- Add Scents: If using essential oils, add a few drops and knead again.
- Storage: Store the kinetic sand in an airtight container.
