Description
Create a serene and inviting Jellyfish Lantern to illuminate your space with a warm glow and calming presence.
Ingredients
- A glass jar (any size)
- Soft fabric (lightweight; thin cotton or tulle)
- Battery-operated tea light
- Scissors
- Wire (for jellyfish tentacles)
- Optional: Paint and paintbrush
- Optional: Ribbon or twine
- Optional: Hot glue gun
Instructions
- Prepare your glass jar. If you want to add a splash of color, use paint to decorate the outside. Allow it to dry completely for a warm, inviting look.
- Cut your fabric into strips. Aim for a length of about 12 to 14 inches and width of around 2 to 3 inches. Feel the soft fabric slide through your fingers as you cut.
- Take the fabric strips and begin tying them around the top of the jar. You can create a gathered effect or leave them flowing freely.
- Prepare the tentacles. Cut several lengths of wire. The longer, the better as they will mimic the natural movement of a jellyfish.
- Attach the wire to the jar’s top by poking it through the fabric knots.
- Place your battery-operated tea light inside the jar. Adjust the fabric pieces to let the light filter through.
- As a finishing touch, tie a ribbon or twine around the neck of the jar.
- Finally, take a moment to admire your Jellyfish Lantern.
Notes
Feel free to explore different fabrics and add embellishments like sequins for sparkle.
