A fun and interactive summer art activity using melting rainbow ice cubes as paintbrushes to create vibrant artwork.
Ingredients
- Water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Ice cube trays (silicone preferred)
- A large sheet of thick paper (watercolor paper)
- Small containers (optional, for mixing colors)
Instructions
- Start by filling the cube trays halfway with water.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to each section, letting the colors swirl.
- Gently stir with a toothpick or small spoon if desired.
- Place the trays in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
- Once frozen, carefully twist the trays to release the colorful ice cubes.
- Set the cubes on a thick sheet of paper outdoors in the sun.
- Use the melting cubes as paintbrushes, creating unique designs.
- Step back and appreciate the art forming as the ice melts away.
