Description
A delightful project to create colorful ice hands using simple materials, fostering mindfulness and creativity.
Ingredients
- Clear balloons or gloves (for shaping the hands)
- Liquid food coloring or natural colorants (like beet juice)
- Water
- A large bowl or tray (to hold the balloons)
- Optional: glitter or salt for added texture
Instructions
- Begin by preparing your workspace. Lay out your materials and take a few deep breaths, inviting calmness into your creative space.
- Fill each balloon or glove with water, leaving a bit of space at the top. This will allow the ice to expand as it freezes.
- Add a few drops of food coloring or your chosen colorant directly into each balloon. You can create different colors in different containers to make a rainbow of ice hands.
- Gently swirl the balloon to mix the color into the water. Observe how the color spreads — it’s mesmerizing to watch.
- Tie off the end of each balloon carefully, creating a seal. You want no leaks for the next step.
- Place the filled balloons upright in a bowl or tray, ensuring they don’t tip over. The bowl will catch any spills that may occur.
- Put the bowl in your freezer. Allow the balloons to freeze completely. This can take several hours, so be patient.
- Once frozen solid, carefully remove the balloons. You can run warm water over the outside of the balloon to help ease it away from the ice.
- Gently peel or cut away the balloon, revealing your beautiful colorful ice hands.
- Place them on a tray or in a dish to showcase their beauty, enjoying the vibrancy of their colors against the icy surface.
