A fun craft project that encourages creativity and sensory play by making colored chalk using simple, non-toxic materials.
Ingredients
- 1 part water
- 1 part cornstarch
- Food coloring or natural colorants (like beet juice)
- Silikon mold or ice cube tray
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon or whisk
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine equal parts of water and cornstarch and stir thoroughly until smooth.
- Add food coloring or natural colorants to achieve desired shades and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a silicone mold or ice cube tray.
- Let the molds sit at room temperature until the chalk hardens (approximately 24 hours). Optionally, place in a sunny spot or low-temperature oven for quicker drying.
- Once dried, gently push the chalk out of the molds, being careful as it may be brittle.
- Use your colored chalk for drawing and decorating outdoor spaces.
Notes
Experiment with different food colorings for unique shades. Use themed molds for special occasions.
