Description

A fun craft project that encourages creativity and sensory play by making colored chalk using simple, non-toxic materials.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 part water
  • 1 part cornstarch
  • Food coloring or natural colorants (like beet juice)
  • Silikon mold or ice cube tray
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or whisk

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine equal parts of water and cornstarch and stir thoroughly until smooth.
  2. Add food coloring or natural colorants to achieve desired shades and mix well.
  3. Pour the mixture into a silicone mold or ice cube tray.
  4. Let the molds sit at room temperature until the chalk hardens (approximately 24 hours). Optionally, place in a sunny spot or low-temperature oven for quicker drying.
  5. Once dried, gently push the chalk out of the molds, being careful as it may be brittle.
  6. Use your colored chalk for drawing and decorating outdoor spaces.

Notes

Experiment with different food colorings for unique shades. Use themed molds for special occasions.
