Ingredients
- Clean eggshells (half, hollowed out)
- Epsom salt (or alum)
- Boiling water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Small bowls or containers
- Toothpicks
- A spoon (for stirring)

Instructions
- Clean and dry the eggshells thoroughly, ensuring they are free from egg residue. Allow them to dry completely.
- In a bowl, combine 1 cup of boiling water with 1/2 cup of Epsom salt and stir until the salt dissolves completely.
- Divide the mixture into separate bowls if using multiple colors, adding a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and stir.
- Carefully pour the colored solutions into the eggshells, filling them about 3/4 full to allow space for crystals to grow.
- Let the eggs sit undisturbed in a warm spot for 24-48 hours as crystals form on the shells.
- Once crystals have formed, you may add a sprinkle of glitter for extra sparkle.
Notes
Consider using different types of salts or mixing colors for unique effects. Decorate the outside of the shells for added personalization.
