Description

Delightful homemade peach rings made with fresh peaches and simple ingredients, perfect for snacking or gifting.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups cornstarch (for coating)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the peaches. Slice them into 1-inch thick wedges.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Bring to a gentle boil until sugar dissolves completely. Add peach slices to the saucepan and simmer for about 10-15 minutes until tender.
  3. Use a slotted spoon to remove peaches from syrup, letting excess syrup drip. Place peaches on a cooling rack for 1-2 hours to dry out a bit.
  4. In a bowl, place cornstarch. Roll each peach slice in cornstarch until fully coated.
  5. Place the coated peach slices back on the rack and let them dry for an additional 24 hours until they firm up.

Notes

These peach rings make a great healthier snack option and can be customized with different fruits or flavors.
