Description
Create a soft, crocheted phone case with a floral design. This project involves simple double crochet stitches and adds a personal touch with a flower motif.
Ingredients
- Worsted weight yarn, weight 4 medium, cotton, about 180 yards total
- Main color yarn: about 140 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn
- Flower color yarn: about 25 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn
- Flower center color yarn: about 15 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Instructions
- Chain 16 for the foundation chain (14 working chains after turning chain).
- Row 1: Work 1 double crochet in the third chain from the hook and in each chain across (14 double crochet).
- Row 2: Chain 2, turn, and work 1 double crochet in each stitch across (14 double crochet).
- Repeat Row 2 until you have 14 rows total, checking size against your phone as you go.
- Fold the lower edge upward to cover about 5 inches, leaving a 2-inch flap, and place a stitch marker on each side.
- Join the first side with slip stitches (12 slip stitches total).
- For the flap, attach the main color yarn, chain 2, and work 14 double crochet across the top edge for 3 rows.
- Shape the button loop on the final row by working 5 double crochet, chain 3, skip 3 stitches, and work 6 double crochet.
- Make the flower center in contrasting color using a magic ring and work 10 double crochet into the ring.
- Join flower color in any stitch, chain 2, then work a cluster stitch (5 petals total).
- Sew the flower onto the front pocket about 1 inch below the flap.
- Sew the button to the front of the pocket ensuring the flap loop reaches it without pulling the fabric.
- Weave in ends and block if necessary.
