Description

A fun and easy DIY project for making your own glow-in-the-dark chalk, perfect for kids and adults alike.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of glow-in-the-dark powder (ensure it’s non-toxic)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Molds or silicone shapes
  • Baking sheet
  • Plastic wrap

Instructions

  1. Gather all your materials on a flat surface. Cover your workspace with plastic wrap to catch any spills.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and cornstarch. Stir well until they are evenly mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the glow-in-the-dark powder with water. Add any food coloring if desired and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir continuously until you have a smooth, thick batter.
  5. Carefully spoon the mixture into your molds. Tap the molds gently to remove air bubbles.
  6. Place molds on a baking sheet and let them sit for about 24 hours. For quicker results, bake at a low temperature (200°F/93°C) for 30 minutes.
  7. Once dry, carefully remove the chalk from the molds. Store in a cool, dry place, or wrap in plastic wrap to keep them fresh.

Notes

Customize colors with food dye and experiment with shapes for unique designs. Ensure to use non-toxic ingredients for safety.
