Description

A fun and festive gingerbread house project with a unique dinosaur twist, perfect for family bonding during the holidays.

Ingredients

  • Gingerbread dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Royal icing (for glue and decoration)
  • Assorted candies (gummy dinosaurs, sprinkles, etc.)
  • Food coloring (optional, for icing)
  • Piping bags or plastic sandwich bags (for icing application)
  • Cardboard base (to assemble your house)
  • Cookie cutter set (for house parts)
  • Wax paper (to prevent sticking)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Gingerbread: Roll out the gingerbread dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut out shapes for the walls, roof, and base of the house using cookie cutters.
  2. Bake the Pieces: Place cut-out pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake according to your dough recipe. Allow pieces to cool completely before assembling.
  3. Assemble the House: Use royal icing to glue the walls together and hold until set. Add the roof using icing to secure.
  4. Decorate: Use royal icing as glue for candies and creatively decorate your dinosaur gingerbread house with gummy dinosaurs, sprinkle grass, and colorful candies. Allow icing to set before moving.

Notes

Customize your dinosaurs with different candies, or make the house gluten-free using gluten-free gingerbread mix.
