Description
Ghost Tassels is a soothing crochet project that creates a decorative panel with playful tassel details. Perfect for quiet evenings or as a thoughtful gift.
Ingredients
- Worsted weight yarn, weight 4 medium, 100% acrylic, about 680 total yards (14 ounces), or 4 skeins
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Sharp scissors

- Small piece of smooth cardboard, about 4 inches wide, for making the tassels
Instructions
- Make a foundation chain by forming a slip knot and chaining 42.
- Row 1: Make 1 double crochet in the fourth chain from the hook, then work 1 dc in each chain across (40 dc total).
- Chain 3 and turn, then work 1 dc in each stitch across, placing the final dc into the top of the turning chain from the row below.
- Repeat Row 2 until you have 28 rows total.
- For Row 29, chain 1 and turn. Work 1 single crochet in the first stitch, then alternate skip 1 stitch, work 1 half double crochet in the next stitch, work 1 dc in the following stitch across, ending with 1 sc in the final stitch.
- Make the first tassel cluster along the lower edge: in the first stitch, work 3 partial dc stitches, then yarn over and pull through all loops.
- Chain 2, skip the next 3 stitches, and work another cluster in the next stitch. Repeat this across the row for a total of 4 clusters.
- After the last cluster, chain 2 and slip stitch into the edge to secure the yarn.
- Turn the piece to the wrong side and inspect the edges. Cut the yarn, leaving an 8-inch tail, and weave in the ends.
- Block the finished piece if needed by pinning it to the finished shape, misting lightly with water, and letting it dry flat.

The pattern uses US crochet terms. For a different yarn weight, ensure to adjust the gauge and choose accordingly. Avoid using a hot iron on acrylic.
