Description

Create visually stunning galaxy crystals nestled in seashells with this fun and educational craft project.


Ingredients

  • Clean, empty seashells (various sizes)
  • 1 cup Epsom salt or Borax
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Measuring cups
  • Mixing containers
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Optional: Glitter for extra sparkle


Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pot.
  2. In a mixing container, combine 1 cup of boiling water with 1 cup of Epsom salt or Borax and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring until the desired color is achieved.
  4. Position your clean seashells upright in a tray.
  5. Carefully pour the crystal solution into each shell, filling them about halfway.
  6. Allow the shells to sit undisturbed at room temperature for 24-48 hours as the crystals form.
  7. Once fully formed, gently remove the crystals from the shells if desired.
  8. While crystals are still damp, sprinkle glitter for added sparkle (optional).

Notes

Experiment with color combinations for unique effects. Use iridescent or metallic glitter for added depth.
