Description
Create stunning Frozen Flower Balls featuring fresh, edible flowers encased in ice, perfect for drinks or as decorative centerpieces.
Ingredients
- Fresh, edible flowers (like pansies, violets, or nasturtiums)
- Water (preferably filtered for clarity)
- Balloon or silicone mold (for shaping)
- Scissors (for trimming flowers)
- Freezer (for setting your creation)
- Optional: Herbs or leaves for added texture (like mint or rosemary)
Instructions
- Start by gathering your flowers. Choose blooms that inspire you. Feel their petals; notice their colors and scents.
- Rinse the flowers gently under cool water. Listen to the light splashes, grounding your focus as you prepare them for freezing.
- Trim the stems of the flowers to about an inch long with scissors, making them manageable for your molds.
- Prepare your molds. If using balloons, inflate them lightly to create a round shape. If using silicone molds, ensure they are clean and dry.
- Place a few flowers into the bottom of your mold. Feel the textures as you arrange them. You can mix different colors and types for a lively effect.
- Slowly pour water over the flowers, filling the mold. Watch the blossoms drift and settle into place.
- Add more flowers on top, creating layers as you like. Each layer brings a new design, inviting your creativity to shine.
- Once the mold is filled, carefully place it in the freezer. The anticipation of seeing your creation take shape enhances the calming experience.
- Leave the molds in the freezer for several hours or overnight, allowing the flowers to be captured in their icy frame.
- When they are firmly frozen, gently remove the Frozen Flower Balls from the molds. You might need to run warm water over the outside if they resist.
Notes
These delightful creations can be used as centerpieces or dropped into drinks for a refreshing touch. Keep them in the freezer when not in use.
