Create a cozy small dog hoodie with this easy crochet pattern using double crochet and simple neck shaping. Perfect for small dogs!
Ingredients
- About 340 yards of worsted weight (weight 4, medium) acrylic yarn, about 170 yards per 100 g skein (two 100 g skeins total)
- One H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in the ends
- Scissors
- Two stitch markers (optional)
- Tape measure
Instructions
- Make a slip knot, then crochet 44 chains for the foundation chain.
- Row 1: Chain 2 to turn. Work one double crochet in the third chain from the hook and in each chain across.
- Rows 2 through 18: Chain 2 and turn. Work one double crochet in each stitch across.
- Row 19, first shoulder: Chain 2 and turn. Work 12 double crochet across, chain 14 for the neck opening, then skip the next 18 stitches and work one double crochet in each of the final 12 stitches.
- Rows 20 through 22: Chain 2 and turn. Work one double crochet in each of the first 12 stitches, work one double crochet in each of the 14 chain stitches across the neck opening, then work one double crochet in each of the final 12 stitches.
- Fold the piece gently with the wrong side facing out, match the side edges and seam them with the yarn needle, leaving the lower portion open for the chest and legs.
- Join the lower chest edges with a few loose whipstitches, beginning about 3 inches below the neck opening.
- Edging: Join yarn near the lower back edge with a slip stitch. Work one round of single crochet evenly around the bottom, chest opening, neck, and front edges.
- Fasten off and weave in the ends with the yarn needle.
