Description
This Crochet Phone Holder Free Pattern is a small, useful project that creates a handy resting place for your phone. The project is easy to follow and can be completed over a few evenings.
Ingredients
- Worsted weight yarn (weight 4, medium), cotton or acrylic, about 120 yards total, or about 70 g
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle

Instructions
- Check the difficulty and stitch multiple. This is an easy pattern worked in rows and then seamed. The stitch multiple is any multiple of 2 stitches, plus 1 extra chain for turning. For the stated size, chain 29.
- Make the foundation chain. A foundation chain is the starting chain that supports the first row. Make 29 chains, keeping your loops relaxed.
- Work the first row. Yarn over, insert the hook into the second chain from the hook, yarn over again, and pull up a loop. Yarn over once more and draw through all three loops on the hook. Work 1 hdc in each chain across.
- Turn and begin the texture. Chain 1 for the turning chain, then turn your work. Work 1 hdc in the back loop only of each stitch across.
- Repeat the row. Chain 1 and turn. Work 1 hdc in the BLO of every stitch across. Repeat this row until you have 18 rows total.
- Measure before folding. Lay the rectangle flat and measure it. It should be about 8 inches wide by 7 inches tall.
- Fold the pouch. Place the rectangle with the ridged side facing outward. Fold the lower edge upward by 4 inches, leaving the upper 3 inches open as the flap. Match the side edges carefully.
- Join the first side. Insert your hook through both layers at the lower side edge. Make a slip stitch through both layers in each side-edge space until you reach the fold.
- Join the second side. Repeat the same slip-stitch seam on the other side, checking that the top opening stays even.
- Shape the flap. If you want a simple closing tab, chain 12 from the center of the flap edge, then slip stitch back into the same edge to make a small loop.
- Finish the yarn. Cut the yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail. Pull the tail through the final loop and weave in the ends.
- Block if needed. Lightly dampen cotton, smooth the holder to 4 inches by 7 inches, and let it dry flat.
