Description

A fun and educational craft recipe that combines science with art, creating a dazzling display of colors and bubbles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Clear glass or plastic jar
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • Food coloring (your choice of colors)
  • 1 tablespoon dish soap
  • Optional: Glitter for added sparkle
  • Optional: Small funnel or spoon for pouring

Instructions

  1. Start with a clean and dry jar to ensure the best visibility for the eruption.
  2. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of baking soda into the bottom of the jar.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of dish soap for extra fizz, then drizzle in your chosen food coloring around the sides to create a rainbow effect.
  4. Use a small spoon to gently mix the baking soda, dish soap, and food coloring without disturbing the jar too much.
  5. Carefully pour 1/2 cup of vinegar into the jar.
  6. Watch for the eruption! The mixture will quickly bubble and foam, changing colors as it erupts.
  7. For a sparkling finish, sprinkle glitter on top before the foam settles.
