Description
A fun and educational craft project that combines creativity and science to create colorful fizzing rocks.
Ingredients
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- Various food coloring
- Water (for activation)
- Mixing bowl
- Muffin tin or silicone molds
- Measuring cups
- Spoon for mixing
- Optional: Glitter for extra sparkle
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine baking soda and citric acid, mixing well.
- Add a few drops of food coloring and stir until incorporated.
- If desired, mix in glitter for sparkle.
- Gradually add water until you achieve a damp mixture that holds together.
- Pack the mixture tightly into muffin tin or silicone molds.
- Let them dry for at least 24 hours.
- Once dried, pop out the fizzing lava rocks from the molds.
- To use, place a rock in a bowl and pour water over it to see the fizzing reaction!
Notes
Experiment with different food coloring and essential oils for unique scents and effects.
