Description

A delightful art activity for kids that uses straws to create vibrant fireworks-like paint patterns on paper.

Ingredients

  • White paper (smooth for best results)
  • Soft, flexible drinking straws (colorful if you wish)
  • Vibrant paints (acrylic or watercolor)
  • Small cups or trays for mixing colors
  • Water (for thinning paint if necessary)
  • Paper towels (for cleanup)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your space: Find a flat, comfortable area to work and lay down paper towels.
  2. Set up your colors: Pour paint colors into cups or trays and mix in water if needed.
  3. Lay out your paper: Place the white paper on your prepared surface.
  4. Start painting: Dip the end of a straw into a paint color.
  5. The big blow: Position the straw above the paper and gently blow through it.
  6. Experiment: Try different colors and use new straws to explore.
  7. Add layers: Once the first layer dries, add more colors for depth.
  8. Let it dry: Set your artwork aside to dry completely.

Notes

Feel free to mix paints directly on the paper or use textured backgrounds to enhance your artwork.
