Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Glitter (optional)
- Mixing bowl
- Cooking pot
- Spoon for stirring
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt, and 1 tablespoon of cream of tartar. Stir until well blended.
- In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine 1 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add food coloring if desired.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until a thick batter forms.
- Transfer the mixture to a cooking pot over medium heat and stir continuously until the mixture thickens and resembles dough.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Knead with hands, adding glitter for extra sparkle if desired.
- Store in an airtight container or ziplock bag to preserve freshness.
Notes
Color mixing can create unique shades and essential oils can be added for fragrance. Can be frozen for long-term storage.
