Description

A delightful project to create colorful bioplastic suncatchers that capture sunlight and bring warmth to your space.

Ingredients

  • Bioplastic sheets
  • An oven or a heat source
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Cookie cutters or molds
  • Parchment paper
  • Scissors
  • String or fishing line
  • Optional embellishments (glitter or dried flowers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to a low temperature, around 250°F (120°C).
  2. Cut the bioplastic sheets into desired shapes.
  3. Mix a few drops of food coloring into the cut pieces if desired.
  4. Place the cut shapes on parchment paper on a baking tray.
  5. Put the tray in the oven and watch them melt.
  6. Remove the tray from the oven and let the pieces cool slightly.
  7. Create a small hole at the top of each piece using a punch or scissors.
  8. String the suncatchers and hang them in a sunny window.

Notes

Caring for your suncatchers is simple—store them in a soft, dry place when not in use. You can re-melt and reshape them for new designs.
