Ingredients

  • Scissors
  • Wire or pipe cleaners (for stems)
  • Optional: floral tape, ribbons, or twine (for embellishments)

Instructions

  1. Start by laying out a stack of coffee filters.
  2. Gently flatten each filter.
  3. Using markers or watercolors, add colors to the filters.
  4. Allow the filters to dry completely.
  5. Begin trimming the edges into soft petal shapes.
  6. Layer your colored filters, using three to five layers.
  7. Take a wire or pipe cleaner and pinch the middle of your layered filters.
  8. Gently pull each layer upward to shape petals.
  9. If desired, wrap floral tape around the base.
  10. Repeat this process with additional filters.
