Description
A beginner-friendly crocheted pet bandana that is perfect for your dog’s everyday walks. This project grows quickly and can be completed in the comfort of your home on a rainy evening.
Ingredients
- Worsted weight, weight 4 medium cotton blend yarn, about 220 total yards from two 100 g skeins
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in the ends

- Tape measure for checking gauge and the finished size
Instructions
- Make 2 chains, written ch 2. Work 2 double crochet stitches into the second chain from the hook.
- Turn your work and make ch 2, then work 2 double crochet stitches into the first stitch, followed by 1 double crochet in the next stitch.
- Make ch 2 and work 2 double crochet stitches into the first stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch, and 2 double crochet stitches into the last stitch.
- For the next row, turn and make ch 2. Work 2 double crochet stitches into the first stitch, then 1 double crochet in each stitch across until one stitch remains. Work 3 double crochet stitches into the final stitch.
- Repeat the same shaping, adding stitches as you go, continuing this until you have 57 stitches at the last row.
- For a neater edge, work one final border round of single crochet around the triangle.
- For the ties, attach yarn at one top corner with a slip stitch. Chain 35, then slip stitch back along the chain or leave it as a simple cord.
- Cut the yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail. Use a yarn needle to weave in the ends through several stitches on the wrong side.
- Block the bandana lightly if needed.
Notes
The bandana is adjustable for small to larger dogs by stopping earlier or continuing the increase pattern. Always check the fit each time you put it on your dog.
