Description
Create a simple and soothing crocheted pumpkin using worsted weight yarn and basic crochet techniques. This decorative item is perfect for autumn and can be made in just a few hours.

Instructions
- Make a magic ring, then chain 1 and work 6 single crochet stitches (sc) into the ring. Pull the yarn tail to close the center and place a stitch marker.
- Work 2 single crochet in each stitch around for 12 stitches total.
- Next round: 1 single crochet in the first stitch, then 2 single crochet in the next stitch, repeat around for 18 stitches.
- Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, then 2 single crochet in the following stitch for 24 stitches.
- Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 stitches, then 2 single crochet in the following stitch for 30 stitches.
- Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 4 stitches, then 2 single crochet in the following stitch for 36 stitches.
- Work 4 rounds of 1 single crochet in every stitch around, for 36 stitches each round.
- Begin shaping the top with a decrease: join two stitches into one, then work 1 single crochet in each of the next 4 stitches, then repeat.
- Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 stitches, then make 1 decrease. Repeat around for 24 stitches, adding stuffing.
- Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, then make 1 decrease. Repeat around for 18 stitches.
- Work 1 single crochet in the next stitch, then make 1 decrease. Repeat around for 12 stitches.
- Make 6 decreases around for 6 stitches, cut the yarn, leaving a tail about 12 inches long.
- Thread the tail onto a yarn needle, weave through the front loops of the remaining stitches, and pull gently to close the opening.
- For the stem, make a magic ring and work 6 single crochet into it, then finish with 4 rounds of 1 single crochet.
- Sew the stem to the top of the pumpkin, weave in the ends securely.
