Description
Create beautiful and vibrant paper flower hydrangeas as a mindful craft project to bring charm and warmth to your space.
Ingredients
- Colored paper (preferably in blues, purples, and greens)
- Scissors
- Glue (liquid glue or glue sticks)
- Floral wire or heavy-duty craft wire
- Green floral tape
- Optional: a small sponge or foam for shaping petals
Instructions
- Begin by choosing your colored paper. Select a variety of shades to create depth in your flowers.
- Cut out petal shapes. For hydrangeas, aim for rounded petals about three inches by two inches.
- Spread the cut petals across your workspace to admire their beauty.
- Gently curve the edges of your petals using fingers or a small sponge.
- Cluster a handful of petals together, overlapping them slightly.
- Using glue, secure the petals at their bases, holding them until they stick.
- Cut a length of floral wire for your desired stem length and push it through the center of the petal cluster.
- Wrap the base of your petals around the wire with floral tape, securing it tightly.
- Continue adding clusters of petals until you reach the desired fullness.
- Trim the ends of your hydrangea blooms and let the glue dry completely.
Notes
Store your paper hydrangeas in a cool, dry place to maintain their beauty. They can easily be repurposed for different occasions or as unique decorations.
