Description

Create stunning light-up crystal geodes with this fun and engaging DIY project. Unleash your creativity using simple materials and enjoy the shimmering results.

Ingredients

  • Epsom salt or Borax
  • Water
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • LED tea lights or fairy lights
  • Clear plastic or glass bowls
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Wire or string for hanging (optional)
  • Wax paper (for drying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Solution: In a clear bowl, mix 1 cup of Epsom salt/Borax with 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until the solids are completely dissolved.
  2. Add Color: Incorporate a few drops of food coloring into the solution. Swirl gently to create a marbled effect.
  3. Create Crystal Shapes: Pour the solution into smaller bowls or molds. Let them cool at room temperature for a few hours or overnight.
  4. Remove Crystals: Once fully dried, carefully remove the formed crystals from the bowls. Place them on wax paper for any excess moisture to evaporate.
  5. Light It Up!: Place an LED tea light or fairy lights underneath each geode. Watch as your creations illuminate beautifully!

Notes

Experiment with different colors and combinations for unique designs. Ensure the solution is saturated for optimal crystal formation.
