Description

A soothing DIY project to create your own lava lamp using simple household materials, perfect for kids and adults.

Ingredients

  • A clear plastic or glass bottle (optional lid)
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil (lightweight oil works best)
  • Food coloring (choose your favorite colors)
  • Alka-Seltzer tablets (for the bubbling effect)
  • Glitter (optional, for an extra sparkle)
  • Flashlight or small LED light (for the glow effect)

Instructions

  1. Start by filling your bottle with water, leaving some space at the top.
  2. Slowly pour in vegetable oil until the bottle is nearly full.
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring to the bottle.
  4. Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into smaller pieces and drop one piece into the bottle.
  5. If using glitter, sprinkle some on top.
  6. Finally, place a flashlight or small LED light under the bottle.

Notes

Customize your lava lamp by experimenting with different liquids and colors. Make sure to supervise children during the creation process.
