Description

Transform simple seashells into stunning crystal-laden treasures with this easy DIY project.

Ingredients

  • Clean, dried seashells (lightweight types work best)
  • 1 cup Epsom salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Clear, shallow dish
  • Food coloring (optional for colored crystals)
  • Small paintbrush or toothpick (for application)
  • Gloves (to keep hands clean)
  • Paper towels or cloth

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Work Area: Set up a clean surface and gather all materials. Lay down paper towels to catch spills.
  2. Create the Solution: In a bowl, mix 1 cup of water with 1 cup of Epsom salt. Stir until the salt is fully dissolved. If you want colored crystals, add a few drops of food coloring.
  3. Soak the Seashells: Carefully place your clean seashells into the dish with the solution. Let them soak for at least 4-6 hours.
  4. Set for Crystal Formation: Remove the seashells and place them on a paper towel. Allow them to dry for a few minutes, then reposition the shells back into the solution.
  5. Final Drying: After an additional 4-6 hours, remove the seashells again and let them dry on a clean surface.

Notes

Customize colors with different food colorings, experiment with sugar instead of Epsom salt, and spray with acrylic sealer for extra shine.
