Description

Transform simple materials into a beautiful crystal flower with this calming DIY project.

Ingredients

  • Pipe cleaners (choose your favorite colors)
  • Boric acid (one cup)
  • Water (as warm as your hands can handle)
  • Food coloring (optional, for adding color)
  • Small bowl or container (to shape your flower)
  • Parchment paper (for drying your masterpiece)
  • Skewers or a deep container (to hold the flower)

Instructions

  1. Begin by carefully shaping pipe cleaners into the petals and stem of your flower.
  2. Create a small bowl of warm water, dissolving a cup of boric acid into the mixture.
  3. If you desire more vibrancy, add a few drops of food coloring.
  4. Dip the pipe cleaner flower into the solution gently.
  5. Carefully remove the flower and place it on parchment paper, keeping it upright.
  6. Set your creation in a quiet spot where it can sit undisturbed.
  7. After 24 hours, check your flower for sparkling crystals beginning to cover the petals.
  8. Once fully crystallized, remove the flower from the parchment paper and hold it in your hands.

Notes

Keep away from direct humidity or harsh light for better preservation.
