Ingredients
- Old crayons (any color)
- Wax paper
- Parchment paper
- Iron
- Scissors
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- Optional: cookie cutter shapes (for fun designs)
Instructions
- Gather your old crayons and peel off the wrappers.
- Break the crayons into small pieces, about 1-inch long.
- Cut two pieces of wax paper slightly larger than your desired suncatcher size.
- Place one piece of wax paper on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Spread the broken crayon pieces evenly on one half of the wax paper.
- Fold the other half of the wax paper over the crayon pieces.
- Place a piece of parchment paper over the wax paper.
- Preheat your iron to a low setting (no steam!).
- Gently press the iron onto the parchment paper for a few seconds. Move it around until the crayons melt evenly.
- Allow it to cool for a moment before removing the parchment paper.
- Once cooled, carefully peel apart the wax paper.
- Use scissors to cut out your desired shapes.
- Punch a hole at the top of your suncatcher.
- Thread a string or ribbon through the hole for hanging.
Notes
Experiment with different color combinations and add glitter for extra sparkle.
