Description

Create a beautiful blue crayon suncatcher to invite light and color into your home.

Ingredients

  • Blue crayons (several in different shades)
  • A non-stick oven-safe pan
  • A cookie cutter or suncatcher mold (any shape you prefer)
  • Baking paper (also called parchment paper)
  • A pair of scissors
  • An oven
  • Ribbon or string for hanging
  • Optional: glitter or clear resin for added effects

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Remove the labels off your crayons and chop them into small pieces.
  3. Line your baking pan with baking paper.
  4. Place a mix of crayon pieces in the cookie cutter, filling it within half an inch from the top.
  5. Put the pan in the preheated oven, watching closely. Melt the crayons for around 10–15 minutes.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven when melted, and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  7. Gently remove the suncatcher from the mold once cool enough to touch.
  8. Add glitter if desired, then use ribbon or string to hang the suncatcher.

Notes

Ensure to supervise children during the melting process due to hot surfaces.
