Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup
- Food coloring (assorted colors)
- Molds or cookie cutters
- A spatula or spoon
- A non-stick surface (parchment paper or silicone mat)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace: Lay down a non-stick surface.
- Mix the ingredients: Combine water, cornstarch, and corn syrup in a pot and stir until smooth.
- Heat the mixture: Place the pot over low medium heat and stir until thickened and translucent.
- Add color: When the mixture gels, add food coloring and stir gently.
- Pour into molds: Remove from heat and pour into molds or use cookie cutters.
- Add decorations: Place leaves or petals delicately into the mixture.
- Let it set: Allow to cool at room temperature.
- Remove and display: Gently pull the suncatchers from molds once set.
Notes
For best results, keep the suncatchers out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
